‘Ya devi Sarvabhuteshu Maa Chandraghanta Roopen Sansthita
Namastasye namastasye namastasye Namo Namah’
The crescent moon sending silver sparkles
Never looked more mesmerizing than now
Spouting with pride silver sparkles
Carried high, aloft Devi’s forehead
A gem studded exquisite clip gathering
With great difficulty her runaway cascades
A gathering of wild ‘cumulonimbus’ tresses
For it is the pride of place upon her form
Having been strung there
a pledge of eternal wedded bliss
by non-other but the Adi-yogi
Having succumbed to Devi’s unrelenting pursuit
Of universal knowledge and wisdom
Enshrined in his being and her obstinate will
To have him and only him as her consort
Thus the initiation of the ascetic
Into the vagaries of worldly life and marital bliss
Where the moods of the beloved can change from
Ochre drenched dawns to mauve wrapped mornings
From amber soaked dusks to dark amethyst sunsets
The yogi learns from the basics, alphabets of the heart
And the art of loving and living from her
She in this form is all charged and armed
The one who is resplendent
like a million rising suns
the color of translucent citrine imbued with saffron
Expands into her limitless form
Above and beyond the skies, into the universe and beyond
Newly awakened to the truth of her oneness
With creation, she being the creator
Her bearing one of ten armed warrior
She is charged, all set for battle
With the third eye open, ever alert
To the inimical forces of evil
To protect her children (devotees) of this Earth
Behold and meditate upon her within you
She is the one who will chariot your mind
With her mastery over the Moon
In your ‘swadishtana’ she cuts loose
All hinderances to your upward dhyana
