Shafin Jehan, who married Hadiya aka Akhila is a terrorist and the court allowed National Investigation Agency probe because it might have also felt the same way, said KM Ashokan, the father of the Love Jihad victim.
“No father would like his daughter to be married off to a terrorist. However, it is not right to criticize the court. We will approach the court again,” said a dejected yet determined father.
He recalled that when he had filed habeas corpus case in the high court the marriage had not taken place. But when the court asked Akhila to present in court, her marriage was hurriedly conducted. “That was a farcical marriage. We will try to convince the court,” he said.
Earlier this week, Ashokan told the top court that his efforts prevented her from being transported to “extremist-controlled territories” of Syria to be used as a “sex slave or a human bomb”.
Ashokan said his daughter was a “vulnerable adult” and she “abjectly surrendered herself to complete strangers who adopted her into their fold, offering her shelter and protection and further imparted religious indoctrination in an isolated environment”.
