The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is on the right path. The university will soon have a statue of Swami Vivekanand, reports New18.com.
Sources told the media outlet that the Executive Council had already given its nod for installing a statue, following which a committee was formed, they said.
The site of the statue is said to be on the right side of the administration block, opposite the statue of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
On expected lines, the Left students and faculty organisations have been raising questions about the source of funds for the construction of the statue. This is no wonder as before the launch of Mangalyaan, Chandrayaan, India’s atomic project and Sardar Patel statue, these people have raised such objections. The Left’s favourite statement is with this money the government could feed a large number of poor people.
