Shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the nation that “sacrifices” of the CRPF jawans who were killed in a suicide attack on a convoy by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Muhammad “won’t go in vain”, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) came out with a hard-hitting statement. Blaming Pakistan for the attack, MEA said: “The Government of India is firmly and resolutely committed to take all necessary measures to safeguard national security. We are equally resolved to fight against the menace of terrorism. We demand that Pakistan stop supporting terrorists and terror groups operating from their territory and dismantle the infrastructure operated by terrorist outfits to launch attacks in other countries.”
“We reiterate our appeal to members of the international community to support proposal to list terrorists, including JeM chief (Masood Azhar) as a designated terrorist under 1267 Sanctions Committee of Un Security Council,” the statement added.
“This terror group is led by international terrorist Masood Azhar, who has been given full freedom by Government of Pakistan to operate and expand his terror infrastructure in territories under the control of Pakistan and to carry out attacks in India and elsewhere with impunity,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the attack has triggered a talk about retaliation. These are some of the reactions on social media.

In two days everyone will be back to Rafale. Politically keep weakening India. Now is the time for massive retaliation on LoC. Now or never. Or bleed for ever

This is a very big story. India will almost certainly retaliate against Pakistan, which harbours the terror group that has reportedly claimed responsibility for the worst terrorist attack of Indian PM Modi’s tenure thus far.

Can understand the simmering anger being displayed by TV anchors, the bluster of moustached Generals on TV channels.. But trust Modi and Doval, they will retaliate severely at the time of their choosing.. Have no doubt that Pakistan will pay very dearly.. This is the New India!!
