Govt move to deploy women employees in Sabarimala

There are reports that LDF government intends to deploy women employees in Sabarimala as a part of implementing the SC order for women’s entry. Reports suggest that Dewaswom Commissioner has already issued an order in this regard. “Janam” TV did telecast a copy of the commissioner’s order.

In the meantime, hundreds of bhajan yatras are taking place throughout the state urging the government to maintain the tradition in Sabarimala. Thousands of women are participating in them.

Pathanamthitta district undergoes hartal called for by BJP in protest against the police attack on Yuva Morchha workers on October 6 while they were marching towards the home of Thiruvithankoor Dewaswom Board president and CPM leader A. Padmakumar. Yuva Morcha state president Adv. Prakashbabu and secretary Sreeraj and several workers are hospitalised with severe injuries. Both president and secretary are in serious condition.
